Noise-Canceling Headphones by Travel Priority

Affiliate disclosure: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Noise-canceling headphones differ in folding size, wired fallback, codec support, account/app requirements and manufacturer-rated battery life. We reviewed current primary documentation for three exact over-ear models. HandyTested has not worn, measured or noise-tested these headphones, so this comparison does not rank sound quality, comfort or cancellation strength.

Quick comparison

Exact model Useful distinction Maker battery claim Watch for
Sony WH-1000XM6 Multipoint, LDAC/LC3, wired passive operation Up to 30 hours with NC on Does not fold as small as every travel design
Bose QuietComfort Headphones Quiet, Aware and custom modes; audio cable Up to 24 hours with ANC Do not confuse with QC45 or QC Ultra
soundcore Space One Pro A3062 Compact folding design, multipoint and LDAC 40 hours ANC / 60 hours normal App features can reduce playtime

These are manufacturer maximums under stated conditions, not HandyTested measurements. Fit, seal, volume, calls, codec, temperature and app features can change real battery life and perceived noise reduction. Current prices and stock change; none is guaranteed below a fixed ceiling.

Sony WH-1000XM6: codec and connection flexibility

Sony documents multipoint connection, Bluetooth 5.3, SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 support, plus a detachable 3.5 mm cable and passive operation. Its specification lists a maximum 30 hours of continuous music playback with noise canceling on and 40 hours off. A carrying case is included.

Trade-off: codec availability depends on the source device, and using higher-quality or additional features can affect battery behavior. Check airline connector needs separately; the included analog cable does not guarantee compatibility with every seat system.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones: simple mode controls

Bose QuietComfort Headphones succeeded the QuietComfort 45. Bose lists active noise cancellation, Quiet and Aware modes, custom modes in the Bose app, adjustable EQ and an included 3.5-to-2.5 mm audio cable and case. Bose rates playback at up to 24 hours with noise cancellation on.

Trade-off: the name is easy to confuse with QuietComfort 45 and QuietComfort Ultra. Confirm the exact product name and included cable. Bose’s comfort and cancellation descriptions are manufacturer claims; individual head shape, glasses and seal can change the experience.

soundcore Space One Pro A3062: compact folding option

soundcore identifies Space One Pro as model A3062 with a multi-joint folding structure, adaptive ANC, multipoint, LDAC and app-based EQ/HearID. The company rates it for 40 hours with ANC and 60 hours in normal mode. Its support page says those figures use specific music at 50% volume and that Dolby, adaptive ANC or EQ can reduce playtime.

Trade-off: LDAC must be supported and enabled on the source device, and app access is limited to one device while the headphones are connected to two. The folding mechanism saves bag volume but should still be carried according to the manual.

What matters more than a headline ranking

  • Fit and return policy: pad pressure, headband shape, glasses and ear size are personal. A practical return window matters more than a universal comfort claim.
  • Wired fallback: verify cable and connector requirements for laptops, consoles or aircraft. ANC may need battery power even when audio is wired.
  • Multipoint: useful for a phone and laptop, but codec or app behavior can change when two sources are connected.
  • Microphones: manufacturer microphone counts do not prove call quality in your room. Test calls during the return period.
  • Hearing safety: ANC reduces selected ambient sounds; it is not certified hearing protection and should not replace situational awareness where hazards are present.

How to choose

Choose Sony when broad codec support, multipoint and passive wired use are priorities. Choose Bose when its Quiet/Aware controls and straightforward analog fallback fit your routine. Choose soundcore when compact folding and the longest stated battery figure matter, while accepting the documented app-feature conditions. Verify model, warranty, seller and checkout price rather than relying on a temporary budget label.

Frequently asked questions

Does ANC make a room completely silent?

No. Active noise cancellation can reduce some recurring background sound, but effectiveness changes with fit and noise type. Voices, alarms and sudden sounds can remain audible.

Can these headphones work with a cable when the battery is empty?

Sony documents passive wired operation. Bose says audio can continue passively when the battery is depleted, without ANC or Active EQ. Check soundcore’s manual and your source connector before depending on wired fallback.

Were these headphones tested by HandyTested?

No. This comparison is based on current manufacturer specifications and documented limitations.
